Comment | It’s not a debate, the Highway Code states that a red-circled speed limit is the mandatory absolute limit - including for road works. How is a driver (case in point me) supposed to be aware that it might be leftover due to roadworks at night? If the sign is there and visible then it’s mandatory. And there are loads of them, for a good stretch of the motorway. All along the side. Also, this is exactly my original point about people who “know the road” and therefore think that for whatever reason they can ignore mandatory speed limits. |
