If they’re well off & have everything I’d suggest something like Cook! vouchers (admittedly not local, but very useful when you have a newborn), or a voucher towards a cleaner etc. Having a newborn is tough & anything that can make it easier ie food, domestic help is much more useful (in my opinion) than ‘stuff’.
