| Comment | Clearly we're not going to agree on whether Glasgow has a functional public transport system sufficient or not, but on your last point, as with OP I'd encourage you to actually read some of the air quality strategy to understand why this is needed and how it is going to have a pretty huge impact. The M8 contributes only around 10% of particulate emissions detected in the city centre. Around 68% of NOx and particulates come from private vehicles, buses and cars driving through the centre, and it is estimated to result in hundreds of excess deaths per year. |
