A Victorian person would shit themselves at a glassy plasticky skyscraper and be amazed at the structure of it all.
It’s worth noting that our Victorian/Edwardian architecture has only been afforded to us because of our ability to colonise other countries and reap the financial benefits.
The past was not static- everywhere was consistently changing. That’s why we have very little of our medieval townscape available in Glasgow. |
