I expect if they know Latin they'll have more opportunities in the world than if they know Gaelic. Not speaking it, obviously, but understanding modern language in general. Rather than just being able to order turnips in a bothy. That said, the Isles feel like it's mostly rich, retired, English people up there nowadays anyway.
