Comment | Are you able bodied? Do you have a step-ladder or something to help you reach the top of the windows? If so, DIY. It's such a simple job that tradies just can't be arsed.
You will need:
1. A corner scraper of some kind
1. Sanitary silicone sealant in the colour of your choice (buy more than you need, return the unused)
* I am suggesting sanitary as it is mould resistant and windows can get damp, esp. single glazed
1. An applicator gun for 2
1. You can get everything from Toolstation/ScrewFix/Wickes or if you prefer to be robbed blind, Homebase/B&Q.
Steps:
1. Scrape out all the old, shite, failed sealant where the windows meet the frame
* If you want to be extra fancy, give the area a clean (careful with solvents on uPVC)
1. Put the sealant tube into the gun
1. Cut the tip at a slight slant
1. Thin bead down one corner
1. Smooth down with a wet finger
1. Repeat for all other corners
If you can't manage it, then find a local handy person; this is more up their street. |
