| Comment | I did quite a bit of research into self-arranged mortgages before buying my first flat. (Direct via providers and using self-service platforms like Habito.) In the end, First Mortgage (who I don't actually recommend using but that's another story) secured a better deal than I could independently.
They also dealt with the admin sides of things. They knew how best to prepare, what docs we needed, what formats would be accepted, etc. Offloading all of that work was pretty advantageous.
Our broker was no-fee as they earned a comission from the lender so going with them didn't cost us anything. |
