I saw a comment a while back that Britain is the only nation not to have had a major revolution (or to have had a directly attached neighbour revolt) in the past however-many years, and it's a contributing factor to us having a culture of subservience and putting up with things- whereas France or Germany would have burned Westminster to the ground years ago.

I've been saying this for almost 10 years now but it feels like we're going to have to go through something BIG to make a change happen. I don't like it, I don't want to see people hurt, but I think some kind of uprising might be the only possible outcome of everything that's happened.
