> The tickets are too expensive

Was listening to a thing on the radio while driving about the debacle over Eurovision tickets. You can assume this happens for all tickets sold on common ticketing platforms.

ScriptKiddies were botting the webapp and purchasing tickets enmasse. The reporter said that up to 90% of tickets were purchased by bots.

The botting group they were investigating was headed by a 17 year old and was called the "Golden Circle" and you could buy into it as an "investment opportunity".

Get this, one Eurovision final ticket was being resold for £11K. One fecking ticket!

All the other tickets were being resold at eyewatering markups.

Apparently it is so lucrative that the botters purchase an extra ticket in each transaction to "walk in" the guests as the original credit card used to be purchase the tickets must be presented. The walker then has to go back outside to walk in the next party of guests, and so on. Meaning single odd seats all over the venue are empty during the gig.
