Ignore if you can't afford this option: but have you looked at renting your own place, even a studio/little 1 bed tenement somewhere? I say this as glasgow is still fairly affordable for flats like that, particularly in the east end/southside (not the posh part of it). Might not be the best area, but I rent a flat in the east end for £495 and it does me great. That was my rent a year ago and might be a little more now, but if you can afford it and the extras that go with it, try that too.

When I moved to Glasgow first, I had a really cheap flatshare - flat was lovely, but the girl I lived with was a nightmare, so renting alone negates that too.
