| Comment | This happened to me a few years ago. The landlord came back and said someone had offered three months up front but as I was first to offer on the flat if I could match it then I could have the flat.
First night I moved in I was kept up all night by a restaurant close by that's customers went from shouting inside to shouting outside and slamming car doors. Turns out there had been a history of complaints and they had recently got their alcohol license renewed, after it had been taken away by the council. This was in London before moving back to Glasgow.
Fucking arsehole landlords tried to cover themselves saying I only asked about noise from the cars outside and should have known to ask about any other noise. Ended up threatening them with court and all sorts to get out of the lease but still lost that three months of rent.
Still makes me angry thinking about it. |
