| Comment | Good points. Also, so many more households have numerous cars compared to years ago. So there could be a household with 3 cars plus a work van parked outside with one lot of council tax being paid that also needs to cover other parts of the council budget.
Alternatively, like you say, large vehicles have a much bigger impact on roads so improving freight trains to get more lorries off the road would help a lot. It would also help with environmental objectives. It would cost a fortune initially so doubt it will happen. |
