Comment | Judging from what the previous and new owners have stated, it was a mixture of bad contracts with supermarkets and increasingly ageing hardware in the factory cut into the cashflow of the business which had been having issues for years (repeatedly failing to file reports with Companies House is a big no-no).
Personally, I think the rapid diversification of their products also played a part. They went from a company who made a shitload of rolls to a company that made everything from snowballs to fruit tarts which is great for variety but bad for costs. |
