I can't imagine an open air swimming pool in Glasgow being an efficient use of space. We get sunshine for maybe 2 months a year and about a third of that comes along with torrential rain.


I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool as heck to have an open pool, but it would be closed at least 6 months a year when the temperature is just too low for mere mortals to be cutting about in speedos.
