You have to exchange legal vows to get married, you can't just sign papers and thats it. You have to book a wedding date with the registry office if you aren't having a humanist/religious wedding and the M10 forms are to be submitted 12 weeks before the wedding date and no later than 29 days before. You can't go in and just quickly get married
