The violence wont be all of it. From what you have said there will be gaslighting aswell.
You have a few options for things you can so. One is to try and get some evidence of it *happening*. You witness it first hand; get a video recording, etc. If you see prosecuting the guy down the line then hard evidence is important to that process. Guy I knew got away with it because we didn't have this. Attempting this might be impossible if its behind closed doors but its something to keep in mind.
In terms of his wife, you can reach out to her, offer her shelter (womens shelters are often full) and support so if/when she does get out, she has a support network. Get in touch with Womens Aid and ask for their guidance.
You can also make yourself aware of his social circle and family, to have an idea of what would happen if he was outed as a wife beater. Some people will be shocked, others sadly think this stuff is normal. |
