| Comment | I’m general, I’d wager it’s pretty much impossible for you as a woman to be too forward in this situation as long as you’re not being overtly crude or generally insensitive of his personal space and autonomy (like e.g. groups of drunken women can sometimes be to conventionally attractive men). So yeah, just say you’d love to continue the chat over coffee if he’s up for it but that it’s also totally fine if not and you’re happy to keep it to casual library chats.
Even if he does not reciprocate the fancy, men generally get so little attention that it’s likely to make his day. I’m not a hideous dude and I think I have a lot to offer but I got asked out exactly twice in my 31 years on this planet. Once by a drunk male customer at a bar I was working at and once by a woman I absolutely did not fancy and I do not exaggerate when I say that both occasions absolutely made my month and I still think of them occasionally as a confidence booster. |
