I'd walked by and the queue was getting close to the carpark by the Big Chief poster.

The whole market though seems to have been false advertising. Having walked around the whole Barras last week and today, I only see two Chinese stalls in that one area people were queuing for (one selling prints, the other a takeaway). Every other stall was the same as last week.

Didn't see any events either. There was an activist group that seemed to be protesting what's happened in Hong Kong these past few years. That was about it.

Seemed poorly managed (the security guards disappeared after a while, leaving a handful of folk to manage the crowd), falsely advertised and over attended.

Oh, and actually moving about the rest of the place was dire. It was as busy as things were decades ago, but it was though folk didn't know how to move out of each other's way, so everywhere was just massive queues around stalls (selling the same stuff they were selling last week when the place was empty).
