How "conservation" is "conservation"? We talking wood sash and casement or something? And what kind of listing?

You can get modern wooden double glazed windows and frames, with the window unit being replaceable. They look almost identical to traditional sash. Composites also look *very* good and are indistinguishable from wood.

Your first port of call should be your factor (if you have one), they may have details on who can do repair work.

Failing that, someone like http://www.gtwindows.com/ or GW Joinery on Deanston Drive (no connections) might be able to help.

You are very unlikely to get away with basic uPVC stuff. Although many people do fit them, you can come a cropper at sale time or if the council get a report.

You may also need to replace all windows if a repair cannot be effected.

The GCC planning department are actually pretty helpful with regards to things like this.

I used to like in a listed building, I had not problems getting the (double glazed) window units replaced in my timber frames. I used Creative Glazing, but I don't think they do the kind of work you'll probably need.
