I chose to say Blue badge holders because it’s a scheme that’s widely abused. And I say this not as a judgmental person, I say this from experience. 1 example being a friends partner who used their mums blue badge daily to park for free almost right outside her work in town. Maybe exposure to this sort of thing is dependant on your environment, in mines, it’s certainly prominent.

In this case, I don’t think the financial disadvantage card works. If you can afford to go on holiday (or travel for work, which in a lot of cases, expenses would be covered anyway) then you surely can afford to pay a fee like everyone else. Regardless of where the actual drop off point is, the charge should still be applied in my opinion. For clarification, I am talking about the airport drop off only in this case.

Granted, it isn’t a protected characteristic, but you’re dealing with semantics. If someone is disabled, whether it be long term or short term, but has no blue badge, then they still have to pay the fee. In the same way that people who are of lower income for whatever reason still have to pay the same price for fuel as everyone else. The world isn’t a level playing field, and unfortunately that’s just life.

And I really don’t see the relativity of the international women’s day comment, I can’t see how that is in any way connected.
