| Comment | It isn't a "financial disadvantage card" it's the reality. If you're directly financially impacted by your disability (which there is plenty research available on) then that is a small way in which the playing field can be leveled.
It may be abused but it's being abused by people who are not disabled so don't penalise them for others bad behaviour. Crack down on the abuse of the scheme - it's not the scheme itself that is problematic.
There is a free option available for non blue badge holders - it's just further away than the blue badge option. Less travel time = more accessible.
I was referring to your what aboutery. No, the world isn't a level playing field for people with various protected characteristics but thankfully attempts are being made to address that. It's frustrating that you don't choose to see this and quite frankly insulting to disabled people. |
