| Comment | Unpopular opinion: doing this will achieve fuck all in the grand scheme of things. Of course it’s good that they’re raising awareness and informing the public of the way the world is going, but we’re a country of 5 million. We’re nothing globally. Christ [China](https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/23/china-factories-releasing-thousands-of-tonnes-of-illegal-cfc-gases-study-finds) has been caught pumping tonnes of illegal CFC gasses into the atmosphere which is horrendous. I’m all for helping to slow climate change and making alterations to the way I live to do so, but I feel that to make a noticeable change the whole world has to take heed and join in. Protests like this, yes, will get press coverage and raise a few eyebrows, but unless all governments, corporations and people worldwide get together, it’ll achieve nothing. Who knows though? This boat parked in Glasgow might be the catalyst; we’ll wait and see. |
