I didn't go to gigs when I was growing up, in Edinburgh. I think I was a bit scared of the crowds, tbh. And there just aren't many in Edinburgh. Spent most of the last decade in Tokyo and I went to a few there, but I'm kinda picky about music (not so much about genre, I just tend to get really attached and go hard for a small number of artists), and I had to wait around for my favourites to actually come to town. Moved to Glasgow six months ago and I've been to three gigs already. Turns out I actually kinda like living somewhere where bands I like are likely to tour. (One was entirely unplanned, found out the night before that an indie band I like from America were playing support, and was lucky enough to find a resell ticket) |
