I do understand your position. However, there is nothing inherently wrong with someone in a position of privilege using that in an appropriate manner to further a cause. If they can afford to protest and lose a day's wage or can bring extra resources to a grassroots movement, provided it's not done in a paternalistic manner then there's no problem. I took holiday and overtime to boost their numbers on the school strikes fit for a few hours, because it was something that I was in a position to do, though I'm aware others in my workplace couldn't.
Climate injustice will cause even more poverty with the global working class disproportionately affected, so the more allies working against it now, the better we'll all be. |
