My sister just first time bought and it went for a lot over what it was worth but she was so desperate after over a year of trying. I do not have specific numbers as that's her business, but it seemed more than the 10-15% people talk about from what's been insinuated. It needs some work done so she won't be able to get into it right away.

On the other hand my sister in law decided to buy a house this year and had one within a month. She managed to get it at a fixed price. Nothing major wrong with it, ridiculously painted throughout but that's nothing structural.

We are just starting to look at we have a deposit saved and my partner now has a full time permanent job. I am crossing my fingers we don't have to save double our deposit to get something that's just "okay".

Fingers crossed for you! Let us know how you get on. I am curious what everyone else's anecdotal evidence will be like.
