| Comment | I tired to get one from my uni because I had lost my job due to placement hours not working with my job and was on the verge of losing my flat because my bursery didn't cover my rent and bills. The uni said I was not eligible for the fund because my situation was a 'long term issues' and the fund is only to help with 'short term problems' so if you have an illness, but will have income coming in once you're well then you're allowed the fund, but if you've lost your job and don't have any guarantee of getting another one then you're not allowed the fund. It might be different for other unis but that was my experience of trying to get the discretionary fund. |
