Comment | I'm like that- I know that the accident rate in the UK is very low, but for me it's that I can never turn off that bit of my brain reminding me that we're continuously passing inches from other steel boxes with a combined delta-V of 150mph, and that the only thing keeping me from spending the rest of my life with a feeding tube is the awareness, reaction time and active interest in safety being taken by a random selection of the british public, most of whom spent lockdown rediscovering their inner bellend.
If not for that, I would merely see it as a tedious means to an end to get places I can't cycle/walk. |
