This, ask around the local practices; many won't, but one of the doctors at my GP was an enthusiast of minor surgery and said he could take a cyst out the back of my head: local anaesthetic, cut it open, dig it out, sew up the hole (I think it only took about 15mins in total for him and a nurse) and it got sent off to make sure there was nothing nasty in it. It was a shock to see how big it was once actually out.
(For anyone thinking of DIY, it's apparently tricky to get the whole thing out along with any encapsulating tissue, and they can fill up again if not completely removed.)
edit: this was about 20 years ago, and the doctor was considered old-school at the time. |
