| Comment | NHS have to consider cost effectiveness, as the money to pay for IVF comes out of the overall NHS budget. That means that they have fairly strict criteria in order to only spend money on populations they think have a decent chance of success. That means they have an age cutoff, among other criteria eg BMI below a certain level, non smokers, non drinkers, etc.
However if you go private, they will be happy to flog that dead horse for as long as the money lasts. Occasionally that is successful too. |
