> I can’t believe how un looked after and filthy with litter it is for being in one of the cities most popular parks

That's why it's full of litter. Your average Glaswegian is a clatty bassa who drops shit at their arse rather than finding a bin or simply carrying it home. And when a Glaswegian does find a bin, they're more likely to set it on fire than use it for its intended purpose.

Similar complaints for many businesses in Glasgow who leave their rubbish on the streets for days to be ripped open by gulls and foxes.

The council don't help either by removing bins, failing to maintain them, not collecting them, and not in any shape or form enforcing littering laws.

Dropping little should see people fined a % of their gross income and/or made to do litter picks on their days off. Companies should only put their rubbish out shortly before collection. If it's there for longer than, say, an hour; they and their collection agent get fined.

Schools should be out on litter picks (around schools tends to be shocking for litter). Businesses should be responsible for keeping ther pavement frontage clear of littler. "Keep Glasgow/Scotland/Britain tidy" ads should be running again. Etc, etc, etc.

So much for stick, what's the carrot? Not living in a complete shithole and not having to do the "dog poo jig" just to walk down a pavement!
