There's a certain amount of traffic that is always going to inherently exist (deliveries, disabled people, etc.) and making it all go three sides of every square is frustrating and counterproductive in both environmental and economic terms. The way to cut down car traffic in the city centre is by restricting parking and putting more/better/cheaper park and ride facilities on the outskirts. |
