If I’m really honest- I don’t see the point in it as a day trip. It’s a lot of miles to not actually experience anything.

Loch ness is not much to write home about. Unless you’re interested in the history of the area I wouldn’t recommend Inverness either. There are beautiful walks down the river ness but that’s not really pushed towards tourists.

Can you spend a couple of days at Loch Lomond instead? Part of the joy of rural Scotland is the noise of little birds in the quiet part of the morning and enjoying some good food and a meander as the sun goes down.

You are not getting a great view of Scotland sitting on a bus all day. I can guarantee that.
