When I was a young ruffian and had a Renault Clio. I was driving on the M8 in traffic. Maybe 30mph and my bonnet flew open. It's actually a fair common thing to happen in that generation of Renault Clio; but Renault never seemed to take responsibility for it.
I was in the third lane at the time and I stopped. I was a fairly new driver so in a bit of shock. I called the police to explain what happened and they said they will send someone out and to not get out of the car or attempt to move the car.
The abuse and horns I got from fellow drivers was insane. What did they want me to do? My windscreen was smashed up and my bonnet stuck in the open position bent backwards.
As I was a young driver it was a £600 excess to fix it since Renault said I must have left the bonnet open. |
