the lanes aren't closed to do work on those parts of the viaduct. the lanes are closed because they're scared the viaduct will collapse if the traffic load and speed is not reduced for the time it will take for them to figure out how to (or if they can...) actually rectify it (it wont literally collapse all of a sudden, they'll detect in advance if thats likely enough to happen to close the road entirely) |
