| Comment | it's a good idea and some cleaver use of the space. the rooftop garden seems a bit optimistic BUT i feel it will be worth it when the weather is nice. most good venues aren't JUST venues anymore.
i actually like that gigs in glasgow are now no longer confined to glasgow city centre. it brings more people to areas they might have avoided in the past and spending money at the businesses in that area.
i'd be curious what the proposed capacity is going to be. i feel like SWG3 is a great venue for acts on the level of alexisonfire, PUP, beabadoobee (the kinda level of fame that the ABC used to hold) but i've noticed a bit of a gap above that. i also think having more venues post covid can be a good thing. a lot of bands got hit really hard by the pandemic and i've noticed an increase in bands bringing other bands with a similar level of fame over with them (the idea is to share road crews, gear rentals and tour bus space..... all of which can be expensive at that level for one band) so i do think for now, it's going to be helpful to have more venues around that level. |
