If you watch the film American Cousins the border guard asks the incoming Italian-Americans, Fish 'n' chips or Ice Cream?

Many long running Italian families establishments are celebrating 100th year in Scotland. eg) Jaconelli's & University Cafe off the top of my head.

There is a reason for this, 1920's Italy saw the rise of Fascism and families who saw the writing on the wall and had the means to do so emigrated, many ended up in Scotland on the way to America and stayed.
