The factor is a seperate entity who manages your block for you. They deal with things like maintainance of public areas/outdoor spaces etc.
It is fine/fair for this to be seperate from your rent. If factors fees are unpaid they can send you to court over it so I wouldn’t recommend not paying them.
Some blocks self-factor to avoid these fees. And some factors are rubbish so they’re not without their issues but it is a normal cost here. £80 does seem a bit high though…. If it’s a small block it might be necessary. |
