Whenever I go back to the village where I grew up (where my parents still are) it's shocking a) how expensive property is now and b) how the majority of places are now holiday homes, making the place a ghost town out of season. When I lived there it was maybe 1 in 10 houses a holiday home, now it's like 2 in 3 and absolutely no chance of anyone on a local salary being able to afford anything |
