Unions only work with strong leadership offering push back against profiteering businesses, and when unions start they start strong, but after a while when leadership changes and politics gets involved the leadership can get weaker.
Unions failed because "I've got mine" types got leadership positions and accepted preferential treatment, and even bribes, in exchange for screwing over the union. Weak unions can be worse than no union at all. |
