I went there, although I left 20 years ago so it might be very different now. Back then there was a massive push into university, career meetings were essentially going through your grades and telling you which subjects to continue through to get into a good uni, whether you like it or not. I wanted to do some work between school and uni and that wasn't entertained in the slightest and I was pushed down a science and maths route to physics at uni which I inevitably dropped out of since I didn't enjoy it and had no life experience.

I liked the social side of having all my pals nearby and the actual lessons and extra curriculars were great, but if the child isn't massively academic then they might struggle.

As i say, might have changed now so take my experience with a pinch of salt.
