Coulter's Wood near Carmunnock / Cathkin Braes is a great spot for off lead walking and training. It's never busy, we've walked it many times and never seen a soul. Fenced off pretty much the entire way around it although there is a path with no gate that leads onto Cathkin Rd. We usually just keep ours on the lead until we pass that and then he's off for the rest of the walk.

There's some deer and usually loads of rabbits in the place although they tend to scatter whenever you get anywhere near close to them. It's a private wood but public allowed to use it. There's enough parking for 5 or 6 cars on the bend just after the main carpark for Cathkin Braes and there's a gated entrance to the wood just right there on the bend. Wee burn runs through the wood which is good for the dog cooling off in the summer.
