What feedback did you get from them? Don't be disheartened, there is a way to do this right and to get the money.

Make sure the budget adds up and that everyone is being paid properly.

Make sure you add a contingency to your budget (5-6% for theatre) if things might go wrong.

Very important - make sure everyone is being paid industry rates (ideally slightly above industry standard rates, to account for inflation/cost of living.) They hate it when you undercut yourself and try to do things on the cheap, they see it as a big risk.

Think about all your environmental impact risks and explain how you're addressing them.

Also, they want to see that you're creating good opportunities for employment and development in the sector - how are people (audiences and employees) benefiting from your project?
