Champ? 😂 Okay Rocky. That's my point. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It should be considered in RTCs if a cyclist is involved and there's a cycle lane available to use but they opt to use the road instead, then this should be considered in cases. I almost hit a cyclist (or should I say a numpty on an electric bike), last week when I had my hazards on reversing a 33 foot long truck into a yard and this clown thought it's okay to charge right behind my truck, despite all the traffic giving me way to get off the road and into the yard. Who's to blame if my truck was to reverse into this clown? Me? Aye right. I'm all for any and all road users having registration plates on their bicycles as there's no way to claim against them if they scrape their handle bars down the side of your car or if they cause an accident. Too many cyclists have caused me to nearly hit them due to them not being trained enough nor having any knowledge of public roads and the HWC. It's not right and the reason the council put cycle lanes in place is to give you your own space and to reduce congestion and pollution. If I was driving a slow ass car on a road and had a que building up behind me for miles, I'd do what any considerate road user does and pull over to allow them to pass. Do cyclists do that? Very very rarely because there's an arrogance with cyclists that just because they can they think they should. Rant over. They're stupid and irresponsible.
