Bridgeton is OK - it's good that it's walking distance from the city centre but that also means there's no decent places to socialise in, because town is so close. The best coffee nearby is at Greggs (but it is a nice new Greggs). Both my dentist and GP are on my doorstep, and the local library and train station are right there too. Buses are pretty regular through Bridgeton Cross, Parkhead is good for shopping when you can't face city centre crowds.
