I took up fly fishing about seven years ago. I found it by far the most rewarding and active form of fishing. I now only fish catch and release on barbless from stocked fisheries. Four hours will cost you between £15 and £18.

btw, most stocked trout taste like mud. The only place I have fished decent eating fish near Glasgow is http://www.woodburnfishery.co.uk/ and that was due to the water being very clean. Stocked with superb brown, rainbow and blue trout. They also have a bait pond too.

Fly fishing is not elitist as it might first appear. I wish I had got into it many years ago.
