The area is fine - you’ll have absolutely no problems. There is a main road quote near it that is busy with traffic and you might get some noise from students going home after a night out, but it is not right on the road, so it won’t be noisy.

If you are keeping to a budget, there are a few supermarkets nearby, but they are smaller convenience shops, so are more expensive. There is a larger supermarket called Waitrose nearby, but it can be quite expensive for some things. If you are planning on cooking for yourself, there are fruit and veg shops within an easy walk, Garden Fresh Exotics on Park Road is the best and cheapest. There are also 2 LIDLs which are a bit of a longer walk, but totally doable, and they are a bit cheaper for everything.

If you don’t want to cook, there are a lot of takeaways nearby. Dario Pizza shop is on Queen Margaret Drive and does roof takeaway pizza. There is also a very popular pizza restaurant called Paesano on Great Western Road - you can sit in for a pizza, they start at £8 and the most expensive is no more than £12-13. They are meant to be authentic pizza, so can be a bit ‘runny’ on the top, but they are good.

Immediately in front of your hotel, there is access to the Kelvin Walkway, through the fence and down a path. Turn right and go over the blue bridge to cross the river, and climb the steps and you are in the Botanic Gardens (5 min walk) or turn left and follow the path for 10-15 mins and you will get to Kelvingrove Park, which the museum is in. I probably wouldn’t use this path after dark, only because it is not very well lit, but through the day it is constantly busy with walkers, joggers and cyclists, and is safe.

I’ve never been in the hotel, but it is mostly used by tradespeople and workers from out of town through the week. You should not have any problems with the location. I hope you enjoy your trip!
