| Comment | I am sure most people know this, but one of the main reasons they do cash only is to launder money, not really avoiding taxes. Cash only it's not to avoid VAT and bank's cut.
If you do cash only there's no registry or log book about the jobs you did. Only the taxi driver knows, and they makes sure to not keep a log. Pricing is also at their own discretion. Why? Because then they can claim they did whatever money they wanted, and drug lords and related scum use this to launder money.
The drug lord goes to the taxi driver and ask, how much money you can put in? taxi driver says maybe one grand (for a night, a Saturday, could be). Taxi driver takes a small cut of that, and now the drug lord has his nice legal money. Of course just 1 taxi driver is not going to make a difference, but if you have 30-40 (or more) doing this for you, you can get through 30-40k a night. |
