You could try a smaller outfit like [Give a dog a bone](https://www.giveadogabone.net/), or a breed-specific resuce (assuming you have experience of the breed, of course) such as [SHWAUK](https://siberianhuskywelfare.co.uk/) or [Greyhound Trust](https://www.greyhoundtrust.org.uk/).
There is always the (expensive) option of buying from a breeder. Find them via the Kennel Club and never, ever, **ever** buy off the likes of Gumtree. |
