| Comment | None of the old DC generation kit, no. Best thing I ever saw was huge valve rectifiers full of mercury at the Finnieston crane 😳 apart from that the network still has some kit that is pre war though not much hopefully these days 😂 there are probably many buried cables though dating from the twenties. Whenever anyone digs up city center streets they find the old DC cables, great for them as they are full of copper, we had to try and identify them using 100 year old maps. Back in the day 😄 |
