It's not the worst, there are some alright pubs (the Applebank for example). It's not as bad as its reputation from day to day, it will be fine. There's an Asda, the green traffic light thing is Lanarkshire wide but the 12th is hoaching so stay out the road.

That said, if you have any options to get a wee bit nearer to the city you will have a better time and meet more people. I'm assuming you don't drive which makes Lanarkshire a bit tricky as the buses can be crap. I moved away for uni rather than commute in to Glasgow, I was that desperate to get away!

Sorry, London road was a joke - it's in the east end of Glasgow and the same vibe as Larkhall!
